The 3rd, 4th and 5th teams all had great matches on Sunday 20 March to round off their seasons!
The 4th team had strong opposition in the form of Beaconsfield Tigers and unfortunately were defeated 17-5. The 3rd and 5th teams recorded great wins over Wendover 2 (14-7) and Wycombe 3 (13-8) respectively. The 1st team still have three matches to play.
Very well done to all the players who have contributed to the season for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th teams. Everyone has played their part in the many successes recorded over the past few months. I will let you know the final standings once received. Jo.
Match Report for HGSRC 3 vs Wendover 2. Team: Rachel Albin, Konrad Pompe, Simon Jackson, Dominic Holland, Daniel Allington.
The 3rd team met Wendover 2 at home. Both Rachel and Konrad had very close matches; however on this occasion, their opponents emerged victorious.
Simon, Dominic and Daniel all scored excellent wins - 3-1, 3-0 and 3-0 respectively. As at 5 March, the 3rd team were top of division 3; however Beaconsfield Tigers were not far behind.
Fingers crossed we top the table once all the results are in. Whatever the final standings reveal though, this is a fantastic result to end the season.
Match Report for HGSRC 4 vs Beaconsfield Tigers. Team: Jess Martin, Lucy Herritty, Finn Andrews, Hamza Juma, James MacLarnon
The 4th team was made up entirely of 5th team squad players. Despite facing a tough challenge against Beaconsfield Tigers, they all put in some great performances. Well done to Finn who took the only win of the afternoon 3-1.
Jess, Lucy, Hamza and James all had very close game scores, several of which resulted in just the required two clear point win - Hamza unfortunately on the losing end of his final game 16-14!
The final result of 17-5 does not do the team justice as to how close some of the matches were. Well done to all you for making Beaconsfield work hard for their win.
Match Report for HGSRC 5 vs Wycombe 3. Team: Alistair Macintyre, Shristi Ghosh, Adam Badrick, Max Aldridge, Olly MacLarnon
A lack of player availability left the door open for five of our other up-and-coming juniors to have another chance to gain some match experience... and did they snap up the opportunity to record a brilliant 13-8 win over Wycombe 3!
Wycombe are a very strong club so many congratulations to all five players, in particular to Olly MacLarnon who was making his debut for the club and won convincingly 3-0. There were 3-1 wins for both Adam and Max.
Alistair and Shristi had tough matches at #s 1 and 2. Despite losing, they both put up a great fight. A fantastic way for the 5ths to end their season.
